Life is suffering. Suffering is contentment flipped on its head. I am you. You are Me, but somewhere along the way we seem to have lost sight of this, and in turn, lost our way. We build barriers to armour our hearts in an effort to protect ourselves from the pain. Yet, inevitably, this pain is the staple of life. In doing so we block ourselves from the love and inspiration that exists between all of us on a daily basis. We become machines, automatons, programmed to go through the motions in an endless game of cat and mouse. The darkness cannot exist without light, just as light needs the darkness to illuminate. This world can be awfully dark. ’The Automaton’ is an immersive piece about letting the light back in.
‘The Automaton’ can be performed on the street as both an installation one on one piece or in the vein of a small circle show. It also works as an act in a cabaret and has been the highlight of many variety shows to date.
